Meet the Unsung Hero of BMA House: Hannah Anderson
In the run-up to the Hire Space awards this October we wanted to highlight the nominees for one of our favourite awards, the Unsung Hero award.
This award celebrates an outstanding member of staff at a venue. They are instrumental to the day-to-day running of a venue. They always go above and beyond for their clients. Most importantly, they deserve to be recognised.
We spoke to Hannah Anderson, Senior Venue Sales and Events Planner at BMA House to find out what it meant to be nominated and what her work life is like at BMA House.
How does it feel to have been nominated for this award?
Wow, what a surprise this was! It is amazing to be nominated for the Unsung Hero award and even better to have been surprised by my colleagues with my name on the shortlist whilst I was on the beach in Cornwall last week! I love the team at Hire Space and can’t wait to celebrate all nominees and winners in October so we can be the attendees for once 😊
Could you describe what it's like working at BMA House
When you go in to a life in events you know that it is hard work, stressful at times and will involve a lot of juggling multiple things at once sometimes with little to no thank you’s so you do have to love it and I really do, especially working here at BMA House! Firstly, I get to work with amazing clients and see some wonderful and sometimes crazy ideas come to life and this means that I’m always thinking on my feet so I guess I can actually thank my clients for making the shortlist. Secondly, my team are great - the most supportive I have ever come across and I know none of us would stay sane without each other and I also love helping our newest members flourish and develop so we can all be known as unsung heroes to our clients! Hurry up October as I’m boring everyone already by telling them about the shortlist (and treating it like an Oscars nomination!)
The Hire Space awards celebrate the very best of the Events Industry and this year the awards ceremony will be taking place at the Museum of London.
