Manchester Venues Through A Food Diary

Mouth-watering, delectable food can make an event successful like nothing else. Join us on a one-day journey through some of Manchester’s best eateries, from a pancake breakfast to a boozy nightcap, all available for private hire for whenever you want their goodies just for you and your guests.

10:00 - Big breakfast

First up, it’s breakfast. Simple Bar & Restaurant is a Northern Quarter old-timer, and it’s probably best known for its awesome sandwiches and burgers. But Simple also does a mean plate of pancakes, stacked high American-style with lots of maple syrup and cinnamon, or even vanilla ice cream if you really feel you deserve a treat.

13:30 - Deli lunch

Have a little wander around the Northern Quarter, admire the street art, and before you know it you’ll be ready for some lunch (or dinner since we’re in the North). Wood. Wine & Deli is a fairly new addition to the city, offering top notch wines, sandwiches, tapas and a huge array of platters – we’ve got our eye on The Grand, featuring no less than 10 different cheeses.

16:00 - High Tea

Time for tea… and cake, sandwiches, and scones. The plush Malmaison Hotel near Piccadilly train station does a range of delicious afternoon teas, from a simple cream tea with strawberry tart right through to the full works, with quiche, sandwiches, scones, sausage rolls and champagne (a winning combination in our experience).

19:30 - Dinner

If you’re still hungry, check out the lovely, sophisticated menu at the Northern Quarter Bar & Restaurant. The team have won lots of awards for their grub, which features local produce with a Mediterranean twist. The classy yet relaxed spot is situated on a lively cobbled street, opposite from the city’s Grade I listed Smithfield Fish Market, what more could you want?

23:00 - Night cap

To finish off our foodie tour of Manchester, grab yourself a night cap at Dusk til Pawn. Themed like a pawn shop (in a good way) with a free to play juke box, this bar does a fantastic array of cocktails, including the Pawn Star Martini and the Hard Candy, which features real candy floss.
