15th September 2014

One of the priceless perks of working in the venue business is getting dibs on London's best drinking cabinets. On Friday September 11th, we made use of our London know-how and threw a cocktail-fuelled party in the spectacular Shoreditch spot, Studio Spaces E2.

The disused train station is now a paint-stripped, wooden-beamed loft that belongs to London's irresponsible younger cousin, Shoreditch. With hypnotic, multi-coloured lighting, the venue evolved from a versatile blank canvas into the intimate interior where we welcomed a few very special guests.

Attendees ranged from the Hire Space team itself to various clients and venue managers who we wanted thank and get to know a bit better - which was easy enough once the Looking Glass Cocktail Club, our drinks providers for the evening, handed out their dangerously delicious miniature spirits.

But catch-ups and drinks would suddenly come to a brief halt when Miss Chu wheeled out plate after plate of stunningly scrumptuous Vietnamese summer rolls, topped off by a finale of South-East Asian doughnuts (yes, they exist!).

And despite how delicious Miss Chu's canapes were, every so often our eager nibbling would be interrupted by amazed gasps when watching some top-notch close-up magic from Richard Kettle.

Friday morning was a weary one at the Hire Space HQ, but we were grateful to see old friends, make some new ones, and of course enjoy the beautiful Studio Spaces E2.
