What is the key to making the perfect cocktail? Everyone has an opinion and while the simple response would be: "plenty of alcohol", we know that the ancient art of "mixology" is not something mastered overnight. The team at Dirty Martini continue to lead the cocktail field and who better than James Roche to review their three top London venues? So grab an olive or three, some gin and vermouth, throw on the Dr No DVD, prepare your best Sean Connery impression and get that wash cloth ready because things are about to get dirty!

Dirty Martini Bishopsgate

A lot of people don't realise that I have some experience mixing drinks myself. Whether pouring a 'Screwdriver', 'Gin and Tonic' or the famous 'Orange Juice-Lemonade a la Roche' (orange juice, lemonade and TWO lemon wedges), I exhibited a pretty broad repertoire of skills. At least until somebody asked for a serious cocktail - then I had no hesitation in recommending they head down to a REAL East London cocktail bar: the Dirty Martini at Bishopsgate.

A relatively new addition to the City bar scene, this superb events space is now available for exclusive hire. After-work indulgence, pre-dinner cocktails, sophisticated celebrations or a stylish late night soiree - whatever the occasion, this sleek party palace provides all the ingredients for a big, bold and delightfully dirty night out.

Dirty Martini Hanover Square

Located in fashionable Mayfair and nestled between Oxford and Bond Streets, it's almost unfathomable how this magnificent events space hasn't yet earned its own spot on the Monopoly Board. Take a tour of Dirty Martini, Hanover Square and tell me I'm wrong. Even the most ardent Fenchurch Street fans would agree - this place rocks your dirty socks off!

Distinctively quirky, yet stylish and inviting, the layout of this venue appeals to all tastes. Perch yourself on a stool and indulge in one of their trademark Martinis, titillate your guests inside 'The Tunnel' or relax in the exclusive 'Vault' - the choice is yours. Whole venue hire is also available, although a word of warning: monopoly money will not be accepted.

Dirty Martini Covent Garden

When I last walked into Dirty Martini, Covent Garden and asked for two fingers of Scotch, not only did I receive a tulip-shaped glass of delicious Talisker Whisky, but the barmen fired a pair of 'double digit finger guns' to signify his approval. It's the little things you see ...

Even if you aren't a fan of being shot at with imaginary weapons, you'll love this stylish hangout - popular with party goers, after-work drinkers and Dirty Martini lovers from across the world.

Valentine's Day is fast approaching so why not head down to Dirty Martini, Covent Garden and take advantage of their awesome specials? With happy hour/s running from 4-8pm, you'll be in fine form by the time it comes to dirty dancing time!

No matter where you are in the city, you're never too far from a downright devilish time, thanks to the team at Dirty Martini! Got a favourite cocktail you think we should try? Let us know in the comments section below.
