As a nation of weather pessimists, we should have known better than to get too excited over the beautiful weather we've experienced lately. The rain has arrived this week but that doesn't mean it's all doom and gloom. Hire Space is here to help as always and so we bring you three great London venues to escape the summer rain!

Hackney Picturehouse

Hackney Picturehouse

Movies and rainy days go together like pancakes and maple syrup. This is handy if you happen to pop into Hackney Picturehouse, as you'll have the opportunity to enjoy both.

From brunch to lunch, a gourmet dinner and any time in between, the Hackney Picturehouse has a cafe offering food unlike any other venue in the area, let alone any private cinema you've ever visited.

Even if you're not there to see a film, the cafe provides the perfect excuse to pop in and escape that pesky rain. For the Hire Space venues team, we can't go past one of their famous hot dogs (rated by Time Out as one of the top five places in London to chow down on one) to accompany our evening viewing. Wolverine in 3D? Don't mind if we do!

Princess of Wales, Primrose Hill

We know it's late notice but it would be a crime not mentioning tonight's FREE event at North London's much loved Princess of Wales pub.

Famous for its regular Tuesday night quiz, the venue will be transformed by the Christmas spirit this evening, with free food and drinks and a dining room laid out just like Santa's Grotto!

Anyone booking their Xmas party tonight (and what better place for it?) will receive a 10% discount. So get down there, cash in on a great deal and soak up the unique atmosphere at The Princess of Wales. It's an evening to savour, every time.

Namco Funscape

When you consider that it is home to the London Eye and Aquarium, as well as the London Film Museum, Southbank's County Hall isn't short on iconic tourist attractions.

We still think Namco Funscape may have the edge on its counterparts, particularly when you consider it is set across three floors with 35,000sq ft of spectacular multi-player games, team-building activities and interactive simulators. There is no other entertainment venue like it!

You can hire out some, lots or all of it, and with indoor bumper cars and a secret karaoke room on offer, it is pretty much impossible to get bored. Whether you're entertaining friends, celebrating a birthday or are looking for a unique, corporate venue, Namco Funscape has a space to satisfy your every need.

However much summer threatens, you always need a back up for when it starts pouring down. Next time, consider these ready-made refuge spots. Top venues each and every one. And for more information on these, or any other Hire Space venues, check us out online. Stay dry folks!
